Price guide

How much does a kitchen respray cost?

The short answer: it depends on the size of your kitchen, how much of it you want sprayed and the condition it's in, so we price every kitchen individually. As a guide, a new fitted kitchen often costs anywhere from £5,000 to £15,000 or more, and a respray can save you up to 80% of that.

This guide explains what affects the price, what's included in every respray and how to get an exact figure. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.

What affects the price

Six things that change the cost of a kitchen respray

  • How many doors and drawer fronts

The number of doors, drawer fronts and panels is the biggest single factor. A galley kitchen with a dozen doors is a very different job from a large open-plan kitchen with an island and a run of tall larder units.

  • How much of the kitchen you want doing

Some customers only want the doors and drawer fronts. Others want the whole kitchen in one colour: carcasses, end panels, plinths, cornice and pelmets. The more surfaces we spray, the more prep and paint goes in.

  • Backs of the doors and glass-fronted units

Spraying the inside faces of the doors, or the frames of glass-fronted cupboards, adds time. It's worth it if you want the kitchen to look finished when the doors are open.

  • What the doors are made of

We spray solid wood, MDF, vinyl-wrapped and painted doors. Each needs its own preparation and primer. Wrapped doors that are peeling or lifting need extra work before they can be sprayed.

  • The condition of the kitchen

Grease, knocks, chips and old paint all have to be dealt with before any colour goes on. A kitchen in good condition needs less repair work than one that has taken years of wear.

  • Extras

Customers often add wall tiles, an appliance such as a fridge freezer, internal doors or a radiator while we're there. Each extra is priced on its own, so you can choose what's included.

Respray or replace

If your units are sound and you're happy with the layout, a respray gives you a new-looking kitchen for a fraction of the price. If the carcasses are damaged or you want to move things around, a new kitchen may be the better choice, and we'll tell you honestly if that's the case.

FAQ

Kitchen respray cost: your questions

Why don't you publish a fixed price?

Because no two kitchens are the same. The number of doors, how much of the kitchen you want sprayed, the materials and the condition all change the amount of work. A fixed price would mean overcharging some people and cutting corners for others, so we quote each kitchen individually.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Quotes are free and there's no obligation. Send us a few photos of your kitchen and we'll come back to you with a price.

Is a respray cheaper than a new kitchen?

Yes, usually by a long way. A new fitted kitchen often costs anywhere from £5,000 to £15,000 or more, and a respray can save you up to 80% of that, because the units, worktops, appliances and plumbing all stay where they are.

Can you spray vinyl-wrapped doors?

Yes. We spray straight over vinyl, gloss or old paint once the surface is properly prepared and primed. Wrapped doors that are peeling need extra preparation first, which we'll include in the quote.

How long will I be without my kitchen?

There's no ripping out and no builders. We mask the room, spray in place and let the finish cure before refitting, and you're back in your kitchen the next day.
